CARE AND FEEDING
OF YOUR HANDMADE POTTERY
Because I make pots to be used in the kitchen and enjoyed as much as you wish, I work with clay, glazes and other materials that facilitate daily use.
My pots are safe for the microwave and the dishwasher, though I know several people who prefer to hand wash their hand-made ceramics.
My pots can also be put in the oven, though a little bit of care is required to avoid “shocking” the pots. Nearly all ceramics does not fare well if taken from a cold refrigerator and freezer and instantly put into a pre-heated oven.
Instead, I recommend that you bring your handmade pottery to room temperature before putting into a preheated oven, or better yet - put your baker, tajin or other pots into a cool oven and preheat it along with the oven.
A little bit of care and feeding should position your pottery for a long life of pleasure and fun. Happy cooking, eating and drinking!
